Phra That Puritat
Bang Pakong, Chachoengsao, Thailand
Phra That Puritat enshrines the sacred relics of the Lord Buddha, the relics of Sariputta, Moggallana, Sivali, and the arahant relics of more than 1,899 respected monks and nuns.
This sacred stupa was established by the devoted female lay Buddhist (Upasika) in accordance with Buddhist principles. She has played an important role in the construction, restoration, and renovation of several significant stupas, including Phra That Phanom, Phra That Choeng Chum, and Phra That Wat Pa Nak Nimit. For more than 30 years, she has been a dedicated Dhamma practitioner with strong faith in offering alms and continuous support to Buddhism.
Phra That Puritat was built through the sincere faith of its patrons to express respect and devotion to the great compassion of all Buddhas, Paccekabuddhas, Arahants, and Bodhisattvas. It serves as a sacred place for Buddhists and people from around the world to share in spiritual joy and to remember the virtues of the Triple Gem.
The golden stupa is surrounded by sculptures of the four Naga lineages. A Naga-protected Buddha image is placed on the northern side. The surrounding area includes peaceful gardens and a pond, creating a calm environment suitable for paying respects, walking meditation, and spiritual practice.
The stupa is located along the New Chonburi Motorway (inbound to Bangkok), approximately 30 minutes from Suvarnabhumi Airport.
